Adelphi is seeking a level 3 Dietetic Nutrition Specialist to provide services for a hospital in Kerrville, Texas. Work involves planning, coordination, and evaluating nutrition programs and services.

The Nutrition Specialist should be able to interpret and comply with ICF / IID regulations.

Requirements :

• Must be fully trained and, at minimum, have 3 years of relevant experience.
• Current registration as a Dietitian (R.D or R.D.N.) with the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration and / or licensure as a Dietitian (L.

D.) with the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians.

• Registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and must be verified.
• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics.

Responsibilities :

• Ensure clinical nutrition care services are provided to 100% of individuals.
• Work with Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (IID) in a residential section, not an outpatient clinic.
• Attend work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and perform other duties as assigned.
• Evidenced-based, timely nutritional assessments, consults / referrals, meal plan counseling, and other nutritional services, as assigned.
• Complete all electronic record documentation within KSH Nutrition Services policy timeframes.
• Provide culturally sensitive nutritional care based on approved guidelines set by KSH.
• Ensure all assessments will be completed within 14 days of assignment; consults or referrals within 3 days of assignment.
• Develop policies and procedures and supervise nutrition staff.
• Investigate complaints and / or deficiencies.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and departmental standards.
• Provide training to staff and family members.
• Assess the nutritional status of ambulatory and medically fragile individuals.
• Plan special therapeutic menus, serving as a member of an interdisciplinary Team, Physical and Nutrition Management Team, and project teams.
• Prepare reports and provide quality assurance monitoring of menu and nutrition service activities.
• Provide technical assistance to other healthcare team members.
